Friday was Go Texan Day. We lucked out and Paige's pink boots still fit from last year. I was able to find a shirt last minute from Target for seven dollars. Of course while I was there I found several other things I "needed". I am not sure what it is about Target but I have a hard time not over spending when I go there. She looked pretty cute in her pink hat and boots. I am not sure what I was thinking but I totally forgot that Caden could wear his western wear to school too. I realized it when I was dropping him off and I saw the teachers dressed up. (Can you say mother if the year?). He never mentioned it. I don't think it is that big of a deal at the elementary. I will remember next year for sure.

What I should be doing tomorrow
Tomorrow is the half marathon that I signed up for awhile back. Unfortunately I won't be running in it. I feel like a total loser! About two months ago I started having some health issues that have not only stopped my running, but have kept me out of the gym for a month. I am hoping and praying to feel better soon. I miss working out and I just feel awful about myself. I remember when I first started working out with my trainer he told me I would reach a point where I liked exercising. I just laughed at him. Lol. I did not realize how much I did enjoy until I had to stop. Hopefully I can get back into running soon and maybe I can do the next one!
Valentine's Day
Yesterday was Valentine's Day and the kids and I had a great day. Poor daddy was working nights again. (I think he was working nights last Valentine's Day too) He did get me some pretty roses and a card the day before. 😘 I started the kids off with a breakfast full of love with lots of heart shaped things to eat. They thought it was so funny. Then it was off to school.
I was able to attend Paige's party with her class and she had so much fun. I love seeing her so outgoing in a group setting. She loves it there. Parents were not invited to Caden's party but today was also grandparents day and my dad went up to the school for some fun activities with Caden. He even went back later and brought Caden lunch. I think that was the highlight of Caden's day.
After school we went thru and looked at all their Valentines and they got their gifts from Jimmy and I. Nothing big, just some candy and a stuffed animal.
We met my mom, dad, Amy and the boys for an early dinner. The kids gave everyone their Valentines and we had a great time. Later we talked about all the people we have in our lives that we love and of course the one who loves us most of all, Jesus!
I did ask Caden what the little girl said about his Valentine. He said she circled both yes and no. No, she would not be his girlfriend Valentine, but yes she would be his friend Valentine. I asked him what he thought about that and he just said that he never did want her to be his girlfriend, just his Valentine so he was happy.
Overall, it was a day full of family and love and I think that makes a pretty perfect Valentine's Day!

Love is in the air
Next week is Valentine's Day and both the kids need to bring Valentine's to class. We had a lazy day today so after a trip to Walmart and some play time outside Caden decided he was ready to fill his out. Paige made hers last week along with her Valentines box.(which I forgot to take a picture of). Paige opted to get Scooby Doo ones with suckers. Caden let me know that he needed boy ones for the boys and girl ones for the girls so I let him pick two different kinds. He chose spy ones for the boys that were really neat with decoders and a secret message and animal ones for the girls. He also wanted to put them all together by himself. Usually I would let him write his name and then assemble them myself to make sure they were put together nice and neat. But he is getting bigger so I let him do it. He took it very seriously and he did a great job.
He made them all but one and asked me to help make a girl in his class a special one. Here we go, I thought. Lol. I asked him why he wanted to make her a special one and he said she was his best girl friend and he wanted her to be his Valentine. Then he asked me what it meant to be someone's Valentine. I just told him it was someone you thought was extra special. Yup, that's Annabel he said. But that doesn't mean I want to hold her hand or marry her. Whew!! Lol
He had the idea already planned out. He asked me to make a paper heart chain and he would do the rest. The picture bellow is the finished product. I have no idea where he got the idea or where he has even seen a paper heart chain before. When I asked him he just told me he thought of it in his head.
Love (or at least Like) is in the air for sure!

100 days already?
Yesterday both the kids celebrated 100 days of school. Man, this year is already flying by. Last year I found an idea for Caden's shirt on Pinterest and it was really cute. I had no idea what to do this year. It is not easy to think of 100 items to put on a small t-shirt. I brainstormed some ideas with Caden, but we could not decide. 100 rocks? Too heavy. 100 Lego men? Not enough room and not enough men! Lol. He likes Angry birds but I knew I could not find (or pay for) 100 angry birds figures. So, I came up with an idea. We have tons of Legos so why don't we build the number 100 and have the Angry birds knock it down? Caden loved the idea and I was pleased with how it turn out. He woke up at 5:30 yesterday morning because he was so excited to wear it to school. They had lots of fun activities and special snacks for them. He had a great day.
Paige also celebrated at pre-k. She made a cute hat and they had snacks. I know they had a balloon release scheduled, but the rain canceled it. She said they were going to do it today. It was a fun day for both if them.
Only 70 days left! Time is flying!
