"Officially" Done

"Officially" we are done with the remodel. "Unofficially" I am still putting our house back together and I have no decorations up.  I have been close to cracking up a few times.  Lol. The chaos of Easter, work, school, baseball, dance and everything else has kept me from being able to get things back to the way I like them.  I like order and routine and I am a germ freak.  I should have had someone come clean the house, but I am a bit of a control freak too.  Ha!  All that adds up to me being exhausted and things are moving slow.  I removed and washed every dish, utensil, and pan in my cabinets so I could clean all the dust out of them too. It is my own fault really.  I had a come to Jesus moment tonight and gave up the notion of having it all done by this weekend.  I am just going to take my time and do it right.

None of my old decorations really work anymore so I am on the hunt for new ones.  Tomorrow I am getting a new kitchen table and a table for my entry way and I can't wait!  I need new rugs also, but all that will have to wait so I don't take us into debt.  It will be a work in progress for awhile.  The pictures don't really show the color.  It is a grey.  We are very happy with the finished product!

Easter Sunday

We woke up tired Sunday morning but eager to celebrate our Savior's resurrection.  The service was wonderful and I loved having the kids in the service with us.  I couldn't help getting emotional thinking about what Jesus did for us on the cross.  To know it was my sins that put him there and he suffered for me is overwhelming.  All I can say is praise Jesus!

All the little ones were adorable in their Easter clothes.  I snapped a couple of Caden, Paige and Sam.  They were so cute!
After church we went back to Tami's to eat Easter lunch and hunt eggs.  It is so much fun now that the kids are a little older and really into hunting the eggs.
We tried to make it a little challenging for them this year.
I have to laugh at the above picture.  Amy will kill me for posting it.  Lol. She was running to get ready to take pictures, but it looks like she is running to get the eggs and I could not resist getting a shot of it.  Sorry sis!  Then came the kids.  They were pumped!
I think we had about 100 eggs when it was all said and done.  Lol. Most were boiled eggs and every time we turned around Sam or Paige was eating one. Lol. We filled some with money including the golden egg which Brayden and Paige found together.  We also shook things up this year and wrote some prizes down and put them into plastic eggs.  Things like dinner of your choice, a trip to get a snowcone, and staying up an extra 30 mins on a school night.  They kids really enjoyed that part.  Of course a couple were empty with a note to remind us what Easter is really about.  The empty tomb!  I think I can say this is one of the best Easters we have had.  Next year we talked about having an adult egg hunt with date nights and different things in the eggs.  Yes, we are dorks but we love a good time!

Family fun

Saturday we had a fun filled day with the cousins.  We started the day at our church's annual Easter egg hunt.  The kids had a blast hunting eggs, eating lunch, jumping in bouncy houses and playing games.  Our pastor talked to the kids about Easter and it was a great time of fellowship and fun.
We left from there and went to Sam's baseball game.  He is becoming quite the little hitter and we enjoy watching him play.  Then to keep the fun going we went to Tami's house to dye Easter eggs.  The kids swam for hours, we ordered food, dyed eggs, and just had a great time as a family.
To say we were exhausted is an understatement.  But it is just what we needed after being cooped up in the house during our remodel.  I love seeing our kids grow up together and become great friends as well as cousins.

Progress?

Slowly but surely they are making progress on the house.  If I am honest my attitude has been bad this week.  My house is a total mess and I am ready to have my kitchen and my life back!  Lol. But in the midst of the mess I can say we are spending lots of family time together. Lol. Our bed has become a gathering place.  I am excited for Easter weekend and it is helping me keep myself in check preparing to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior.  We have lots planned this weekend and Paige was even helping me tonight make a treat for Sunday school.  Can't wait for the weekend!

Remodel Day 4

We have almost made it thru week one of our remodel.  Thank goodness!  This morning I made breakfast and the kids lunches on top of our dryer!  Lol. I am starting to get creative.  They are still repairing and getting everything ready to actually start painting and putting down title.  I am so ready!  I just wanted to post a few pictures of what our life looks like right now.  We can do it!

April Happenings

Right now we are in the middle of baseball season and on day two of some remodeling projects.  We are redoing our floors as well as having the wallpaper taken down in our kitchen and repairing and repainting the entire house.  Of course we thought it totally thru and decided we could still live here while this is going on.  Ha!!  To say it has been crazy is an understatement.  Every room is filled with furniture, I am currently holed up working in my bedroom and it seems like every part of my house is covered in dust.  I am not sure what we were thinking?!  lol. Yesterday I ended up leaving the house and staying gone most of the day because it was so loud.  Thankfully work did not need me and I was able to finish later in the day.  I can't cook and this morning the kids had cereal out of plastics bowls on the floor of my room because you can't go anywhere else in the house.  I am trying not to complain.  Lol. I am excited for the remodel.  It is way past due.  We just have to get thru the next week and I think the worst will be over.  At least that is what I am telling myself.  Lol. I have taken lots of pictures to document the changes.  I can't wait to see the finished product!

More baseball

I have been a bad blogger lately and have not been keeping up with what has been going on the last few weeks.  Opening day for baseball season was two weeks ago!  It was a fun day that of course started with a parade and I always get a kick out of seeing all the kids on the floats.  This year we added someone new to the lineup of ones we look for.  Sam!  I just love the parade!  Of course the kids love being on the float and I think Paige and D.J. walked away with enough candy to last the rest of the year!

Caden was really excited for the season and is enjoying it even though we have had 2 losses.  We finally pulled off a win last week and he was thrilled!  Poor Sam missed his first game opening day because he got sick but this past Saturday we were able to go watch him play.  Can I just say I love being an aunt?!  Lol. I had so much fun watching him play.  It was nice to be the aunt and not have all the mommy worry that comes when you are the parent.  Ha!  I think Amy was just a little stressed but this little guy did great!  He made some good hits and even had a chance to try and make an out at first.  We love our Sammy and I can't wait to go to more of his games.
