Concession stand junkie

Even though Paige loves her big brother she does not exactly love baseball. But she does love the concession stand. She has become what I call a concession stand junkie. It gives her something to look forward to at the games. Tonight she picked a blow pop and of course I had my snack of choice, a diet coke. Caden played short stop tonight and did great. We ended up tying the game. It looks like we will be spending a lot of time at the concession stand this week since we have 3 games.

Disney on Ice

My mom and I took Paige on Saturday to Disney on ice. It's theme was dare to dream and it was all about princesses. Paige was super excited. I had never been so I was not sure if she would like it. But we all three loved it! Paige did not take her eyes off the ice the entire time and did not even want to go to the restroom because she was afraid she would miss something. I felt like a big kid too. My favorite was Cinderella, but of course Paige was there to see Rapunzel. Nonnie hooked Paige up with all kinds of goodies. We laughed and just had a great time. Having an older brother I could tell Paige really loved the attention and the "girl" time as she called it. I would definitely go again.

Go Mets!

They finally did it! Caden's t-ball team finally won a game. It has been a long season already. Lol We have come close to a few wins but this time we finally did it. I am not usually competitive, but Fridays game was intense. To say the other team was not so nice is putting it lightly. It could have gotten ugly but we kept our cool and it made the boys winning that much more exciting. They were so sweet after the game. One of the grandfathers bought all the boys snow cones to celebrate. This season has been a lesson in being a good loser , so it was nice to see all they boys hard work pay off! Way to go Mets!

Blankie

Did you know I have a third child? I remember the day I got him. At my baby shower I opened a beautiful multicolored blanket that would some day become Paige's blankie. He was so soft and beautiful. He had a little stretch to him that made him the perfect blanket to swaddle her in. I am not sure exactly how or when it happened but he went from a swaddling blanket, to a blanket she covered up with at night, to what he is today. Her blankie. I assume he is a boy because she refers to it as him. And now we all do too. Lol

I catch myself talking about him like he is a real person. Paige will tell you he is her best friend and when I ask her who she loves more me or blankie, she will reply momma AND blankie. I guess I should be happy I at least tie with him. (there I go again referring to it as a person!)

And how could I forget taggy? Blankie must have a conjoined twin because she also loves taggy, the tag on the blanket. She holds onto taggy and rubs it on her face. I am not sure if taggy is a boy or a girl. Lol It has fallen off several times and it is must that I sew it back on.

Blankie is no longer bright and pretty. He is dingy and full of holes. But I guess he will be apart of our family for as long as Paige needs him. We love you blankie!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter. The service at church was amazing. There were testimonies that brought me to tears. Which side of the cross are you on was the sermon. It was wonderful. I just love my church. After church we went to Amy's house for lunch and to hide eggs....again. Lol. Easter is quickly becoming my favorite holiday. Besides what it means, it is such a laid back day for all of us. No running around crazy looking for gifts, we keep the cooking easy and the focus really is on what Jesus did for us. I made banana pudding. It was yummy! I tried to get a few pictures of the kids but none of them really turned out. They still looked cute though.

Now I just need to get rid of all this candy laying around!

Resurrection rolls

This morning after reading the Easter story we made resurrection rolls for breakfast. At first I thought they were a pinterest fail. Lol. The website said to make sure the rolls were sealed tightly. I thought I did but several of the rolls opened while they were cooking and the marshmallow spilled out. But some of them worked perfectly! The kids were amazed when we opened the rolls and the marshmallow was gone. Just like the tomb was empty on Easter morning! They also tasted pretty yummy. I think resurrection rolls will be something we do from now on!

Good Friday

Today is Good Friday! I love everything about Easter. Most of all I love what Easter is really about. I can barely think about what Jesus did for me without wanting to cry. I am so thankful for my salvation!

We started celebrating today by dying eggs at my house. Amy, Sam, D.j., Tami, Danielle, Brayden and Luke came by to join the fun. And we did have fun. The kids were really into it this year. They loved showing off their eggs and had so much fun hunting them too.

Sam found his own way to have fun. After coloring them he started smashing the eggs. I am not sure how many he crushed but he really enjoyed it. Squeaky quickly became his best friend when he started feeding him eggs. Lol

Tomorrow will continue our weekend of fun. My sweet little cousin Benjamin will be turning one and we are going to his party. His mom is having a big Easter egg hunt complete with the Easter bunny and bouncy houses. It should be a blast! We will be making resurrection rolls for breakfast in the morning. It will be my first time to make them and I can't wait to share the story of the empty grave with the kids while we make them.

I am glad I am a girl

This is one of those TMI posts. Lol But I just have to post about this. Yesterday I got a call from the school nurse on my way to pick Caden up from school. He had an accident (#2) in his pants but was refusing to change his clothes. We had a few issues with this at the beginning of the school year. Caden says he does NOT want to poop at school, so he was holding it till he got home. I thought he got over his fear because the accidents had stopped. Looking back I realize he just got better at holding it since he usually goes as soon as he gets home.

Well, I was not very happy with him and he was pretty upset. He said he did not care what anyone said he is not going at school. Later that evening Jimmy was talking to him and giving him some tips like go during class when no one else was in there. I understand not wanting to poop in a public restroom but this was out of hand I thought. Until I heard part of their conversation. I was floored to find out the boys do not have doors on the stalls!!!!! What? I get the whole urinal thing but come on, no doors! No wonder he does not want to go. He said the other boys will peak around and laugh and stare at you. Am I the only one that thinks this is awful?!?

I have been in the girls restroom at his school and they do have doors so I am not understanding why the boys don't. I am not sure what to do now. I am pretty sure I am going to email his teacher. I would probably poop my pants too before I had to go #2 with people watching. Poor guy. Now I feel bad for being so hard on him.

Jimmy said it stinks but they did not have doors either when he was in school. Really? This is a common practice? I just can't believe it. Gross!!!

Strep also struck our house again. Paige woke up with a really high fever and with one look at her throat I knew what it was. We made a trip to the doctor and sure enough I was right. It must be going around. I asked the doctor if she could have caught it from Caden and she said too much time had passed so she must have picked it up elsewhere. Hopefully she will feel better before this weekend. I just love Easter!
