Fun times during spring break

We started our spring break with a trip to see Cinderella.  Paige and I have been waiting and waiting for it to come out.  Caden did not want to go so he and Jimmy went to ride Go-karts.  Gone are the days where I can drag him to the princess movies.  Lol
We invited Amy, my mom, and Sam to go with us.  I have to admit I loved the movie!  Cinderella is my all time favorite princess and I thought they did a wonderful job with the movie.  Paige and I were mesmerized.  I could tell Sam was a little bored  but in the end when she was in her wedding dress he said, "Wow she is beautiful!"
The kids left on Sunday to spend a few days with Jimmy's dad and stepmom.  They planned a horseback riding trip for them and both the kids had a blast!  Definatly a memory they will always have.  I wish I could have been there too!
Jimmy and I also took the kids to the rodeo on Thursday.  We skipped the over priced carnival and went to watch the rodeo events and the concert.  I let the kids bring binoculars since we were in the nose bleed section as Caden would  call it.  Ha!  We still had a great time watching the Cowboys and cowgirls do there thing.

We ended the week with a trip to jumping world with Amy and the boys.  That is always fun and the kids are exhausted when we leave.  Win! Win!  I would say the kids had a great spring break!

Spring break 2015

I can't believe it is almost Easter.  Spring break has once again come and gone.  Only two more months of school.  Crazy! The Thursday before the kids had open house at school.  It is always fun to go into their classes and see what they have been up to.  Paige's teacher is a very sweet lady.  Very quite and reserved.  She said Paige is doing very well.  We did talked about the fact that she wants everything to be perfect and struggles with her confidence a little.  Something I already knew and we work on.  But it was nice to see how her teacher recognizes it too and gives her extra encouragement.  They had little stories posted in the hallway for the parents to see.
Caden adores his teachers this year.  His home room teacher really seems to "get" his personality.  Lol.  I always check his desk and to my surprise it was very neat.  They have really worked on independence this year and responsibility and it shows at school.  (Now if I could only get it to spill over into home some how lol).  He was excited to show me his name in Braille.  They made them when they learned about Helen Keller.
We are excited for the rest of the school year and of course we can't wait for summer break!

Class trip to the zoo

Today the first grade took field trip to the zoo.  Paige has been looking forward to it for weeks.  She was super excited to ride on the big school bus.  It was cold today but the sun was shining and they pushed thru.  My friend was a chaperone and she sent me some pictures during the day.  Paige came home excited to tell me all about her day.  She had a wonderful time.

Saying Goodbye

Sunday we lost my uncle after a short battle with cancer.  It has been a tough time for my mom and our family.  Tuesday we drove up for the funeral and afterwards everyone hung around to catch up.  Even though it was sad circumstances it was wonderful to see some cousins I have not seen in a long time.  There were quite a few of us still missing but we took a few photos.  We are also planning a family reunion this July.  Funerals are never easy but when you know your loved one was saved you have a peace.
