Happy Halloween

Halloween has come and gone again.  This year Paige decided she wanted to be a donut.  Lol.  I looked on Pinterest and we decided we could make her costume.  She loves to do anything crafty so she had a blast making it.  I thought it turned out pretty cute.
I am not exactly sure what Caden was but we called him camo man.  We had a great night at the church fall festival. Games, food and Trunk or Treat kept the kids busy.   I can't believe tomorrow is the first day of November!  Happy Halloween!

Happy birthday Paige

Today was Paige's 7th birthday. She still seems like my little baby and 7 sounds so old to me.  lol. We had planned on a day spent at church and celebrating Paige but that all changed when she woke up complaining of a soar throat and she had a fever.  Poor thing spent most of the day laying in bed not feeling well.  She still managed to give us a smile when she got her new bike.  Now she should be able to keep up with us when we go on bike rides.  When I was able to get her fever down during the day she was up for playing games and crafting.  Not the day we had planned but she said she still had a good birthday.  We love our Paigie!  Happy birthday!

16 Years

Today Jimmy and I celebrated 16 years of marriage.  He is working nights but he stilled managed to get me flowers, a card, and a diet coke.  Sad, but he knows the way to my heart with the diet cokes.  Lol
Today we laughed and talked about how old we would be and what stage of life we would be in in another 16 years. You blink and time is gone.  I am glad I have Jimmy to share my life with.  Happy anniversary babe!

Trouble and science fun

This year the teachers and parents have a new app. that allows the teacher to post about your child's behavior at school.  Before we had to wait until the end of the week when we got their behavior card.  Paige is definatly my people pleaser.  She wants to do everything perfect and she has never had a mark on her card.  That is why I was surprised today when I checked the app and saw this.
Before I get ahead of myself I have to say that I am not a crazy parent that demands perfection from my kids.  I know it can be challenging to sit still and we all have a bad day.  That said, I also make sure Caden and Paige know we expect their best whatever that may be.  Anyways, I was extremely curious what Paige got into trouble for.  The teachers let us know that they do not give the kids a mark right away.  It is only after they have been asked/warned several times that they get a mark.  Well, Jimmy picked up the kids today and he said the first thing out of Paige's mouth was that Mrs, Yarbrough said to tell us that she messed up and marked a negative behavior instead of a positive one.  Poor thing was so nervous and even started to cry when daddy teased her about getting a mark. She takes school very seriously.  Lol. Caden took one look at it and asked Paige why she was so upset she still had 75% positive.  Lol

Speaking of Caden, tomorrow he gets to dress up as a scientist at school.  It is a reward for his entire class for their behavior.  He is pumped to wear his costume tomorrow that he worked on.  Apparently they all brainstormed ideas on what they could wear and what they thought a scientist looks like.  It should be a fun day for Caden and his classmates

Halloween fun

Tonight we went to Tami's house for dinner and to carve pumpkins.  I made dirt cake and Tami had hot dogs for us to eat.  Poor Sam is sick so Amy and the boys were not able to make it and we definatly missed them.  We had a great time hanging out and carving pumpkins.  I also got to spend some time with our sweet new cousin Hallie.  She is so pretty!  We dressed her up and took lots of pictures.

I need to get to work on Paige's  costume.  This year she wants to be a donut.  Lol. And Caden....well I am not exactly sure what he is but he is excited for his costume this year
We are looking forward to all the Fall festival activites coming up and wearing our costumes.

What a day that will be

I love old Hymns.  One of my favorites has to be What a day that will be.

What a day that will be
When my Jesus I shall see
And I look upon His face
The one who saved me by His grace

I can't wait for that day!
Today was such a wonderful day.  Our sweet Paige was baptized today.  She has been looking forward to today since she got saved a few weeks ago.  We have been doing a study on the afterlife at church the past few weeks.  Last week Pastor Timmy spoke on Hell.  This week he was out of town for his sons wedding so Bro. Darren baptized Paige as well as gave a sermon on Heaven.  It was extra special having Darren baptize her since he was our youth pastor and he also married us.  The sermon was powerful.  No fluff about bright lights and every one goes there.  Just the truth about what awaits us and knowing for sure you are going.  I can really see God moving in our church.  The last year we have gone through some struggles, but God has used those to light a fire in our hearts and  I am really loving the direction we are headed.

After church everyone came back to our house to celebrate Paige's baptism and her birthday.  I don't think I could have planned the timing better if I tried.  Lol.  I forgot to take pictures of her party but I did get several of her baptism.  What a special day it was for our family.  Now when I sing that song I can know that one day my entire little family will look upon Jesus' face.  Praise God!

Craft time

We visit our local library at least once a week.  Sometimes the kids do their homework there but mostly we just check out books for the kids to read at home.  Today we happened to go when it was craft time.  Caden was not thrilled. Lol. That is until he realized he is 9 now and could craft with the older kids.  Last time we did crafts at the library he was still in Paige's age group and he thought the craft was babyish.  Lol. He brought a book to read but once he saw a table with older boys he decided to join them.
Paige loves anything to do with crafts and she was very excited to participate.  I  realized at one point that I no longer had to help with the cutting and glueing.  I just sat there and watched my kids do their own thing.  It did make me a little sad until I saw one mom struggling and getting frustrated with her little one.  I just had to laugh to myself and think "been there, done that!"  Lol. I miss the little stage, but I am learning to try not to look back and just enjoy the stage of life we are in.  Both the kids were happy with their crafts in the end and had a good time.

Party time!

This weekend we celebrated Paige's 7th birthday with her friends.  This year she chose Chuck E. Cheese.  It was low key and the kids loved it.  Several of her school friends were able to come and it was nice to see her with her friends.  She still loves school and I can really tell it helps her to come out of her shell.  Lately she has been obsessed with My Little Pony so of course we had a My Little Pony cake. She said it was her best birthday ever!
Later that day we went to her best friends birthday party at Skateworld.  Their birthdays are only 4 days apart and I think almost every year since they were born we have had their parties the same day.  Her mom and I even call each other when we are planning their parties.  We said next year maybe we should do a joint one!  Lol.
We were very tired after a day spent partying!
