The day after

The day after Thanksgiving is usually the same for us.  We always put up the tree and decorate the house.  Today I also made turkey noodle soup and turkey salad.  I have to put that leftover turkey to good use. ;). I just love this time of year.  We made a trip to Hobby Lobby to pick out the kids new Christmas ornaments.  Paige picked My Little Pony and Caden picked Duck Dynasty.  Lol. We always have fun looking at our ornaments from years passed as we put them on the tree.      We can't wait for Christmas!

Thankful

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and we have so much to be thankful for this year.  New additions to our family, our health and of course our Savior Jesus just to name a few.  I hosted our Thanksgiving lunch this year.  The kids played, ate and played some more.  Of course we had way too much food and everyone stuffed themselves.  Poor Amy was not feeling well and today she went to the doctor and turns out she has the flu.  Praying that she feels better soon and no one else gets sick.  Today we are pulling out our Christmas decorations and tree.  Bring on Christmas!  My favorite time of year.

Quick trip to the country

This weekend we made a quick trip to visit my Grandmother in East Texas.  Saturday evening we went to their church for a fellowship.  Talk about a good time. My kids were in Heaven.  Tons of kids and space to run around.  They played tag most of the night.  Which I guess was a good thing because there we so many goodies to eat.  We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows.  I ate way too much because every dish was wonderful.  It was a sweet time of fellowship with family we don't see often enough.  I am exhausted today!  Caden and Paige are already counting down the days until Friday.  They will be going to stay with Jimmy's dad and stepmom for a few day while school is out for Thanksgiving.  We are looking forward for some time off and more family time!

Field Day 2014

Friday was field day and once again it did not disappoint.  The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast doing their relay races, tug a war, and having carnival time with bouncy houses and snacks.  This is when I can truly say I am blessed to have the job I do.  I was able to wake up early and post my morning work before leaving to spend the day with the kids.  I let my boss know it was field day and kept in contact with work by text.  Then I was able to finish everything else after the school day was over.  I am so grateful I am able to work from home.  I was even able to volunteer to help out in between the kids events.  Caden and Paige had a blast.  It was a fun day for everyone!
