Caden is 10!

The title of this post says it all.  Caden turned 10 on Friday.  He is pumped to be in the double digits.  I might be a little sad he is in the double digits.  Lol. Friday we went to dinner with my parents, Jimmys's parents, Amy, Erin and the boys.  Caden wanted Chili's and a strawberry cake so that is what he got.  I forgot to take pictures but I did snap a few from breakfast that morning.
Saturday we had a party with his friends at Formula One Racing.  Jimmy and Caden went there a few months ago and Caden loved it.  So they decided together this is where his party would be.  I had no idea what to expect.  I was a little nervous when we got there.  These go karts are much faster than ones I have seen before.  I could see the concern in the other parents eyes.  The workers reminded us that the kids ones did not go as fast as the adult ones but I think everyone was nervous.  It didn't help that a woman flipped her go kart over the race before us!  Thankfully she was ok.  The kids got their helmets and they were ready to go.  To my surprise everyone caught on quickly and they loved it!  The parents were cheering them on and it was so fun to watch.  In between their two races we ate pizza and had cake.  It looked like so much fun the dads decided to do their own race.  It was so fun and the kids loved cheering for them. Everyone had a blast.  I was so happy Caden had a fun time celebrating with his friends.  Happy birthday Caden, we love you!

2nd and 4th grade!

We survived our first week of school.  The pickup line is always crazy and the first day was made even worse by rain.  But both the kids had a great week.  No matter how we prepare it is always a little tough getting back into the routine but we are adjusting.  I heard great things from both kids about their teachers and their friends in class.  I went into the school this year for the PTO breakfast.  I was glad I had an excuse because otherwise I think my kids would have just wanted to do the car line the first day!  I was able to snap a few pictures before they were off!  Looking forward to a great year!

Moving on up

Today we had our promotion party for the kindergartens leaving our Sunday school department.  I get a little sad every year when they move up.  This year especially since Sam will be leaving us.  Good thing I will be getting D.J. in my class or I would be totally bummed!  I know they will do great in the elementary department and in school.  I will miss all of them!

Almost time!

This week we have been in full back to school mode.  Packet pickup was first on our list.  We took Sam with us since DJ was having tubes put in his ears that day.  Thankfully he did great!
Next on our list was haircuts.  Paige only gets a trim once a year so she was excited.  Caden had not had a haircut in a long time so it was great to see him looking nice and clean cut for back to school.
We had our back to school swim party with the kids in KOM and everyone had a blast.  I was so proud of Paige.  She did great swimming and was even jumping off the rocks with all the other kids.
Last night was meet the teacher.  I have heard great things about Paige's teacher and she was excited to see her friends in her class.  I actually went to high school with one of Caden's teachers.  A very sweet girl.  His other teacher seems great also.  Caden already told me he could tell she would be his favorite.  Lol. They were talking about books and she seems super nice.  Of course this year Sam starts Kindergarten!  Caden and Paige are pumped to have him at their school.  Next Tuesday is the first day of school and the kids can't wait!

Fitting in the fun

Summer is quickly coming to a close and we are squeezing in the fun while we can. My parents got a little above ground pool so that is the kids new favorite place to hang.
We also visited a new painting place with Amy and the boys.  Caden was with my dad so he missed out.  It was very reasonably priced and so much fun.  We did painting and mosaics but they also had sand art and stepping stones you could create.  D.J. was really into making his mosaic.  I missed getting pictures of everything but mine and Paige's cross.  I found out that they will come to you for parties!  So I already know what we will be doing this year for Paige's birthday.
We will definatelt be going back!
